Possible WiFi High Speed Internet for the City of Laurie
As many of you know the city of Laurie has been working on establishing
wireless broadband high speed Internet service for the area. We now have
an interested party who fits the way we would like to approach this. In an
effort to identify your interest in this project, we want to explain what you
would receive. First, at your home or business, would be a device that would
transmit and receive signals for you at a central location at your place. (cost
for equipment would be about $150.00) From this device you would be able to
use any computer with a wireless card and up to as many as 8-10 users in your
immediate area. We are talking about “warp speed” (3 to 4 times faster then
what is available in the area), and also we are talking broadband to maximize
usage. The area we believe can be accessed is all of the city of Laurie, and about
1-2 miles further via an antenna located on our water tower or tower at the golf
course(with an outside antenna), no antenna needed for the first ¼ mile. With
this wide dispersal, we would be welcoming all who live in the area to apply.
Cost would be $39.95 per month. Now comes your part, we need your input.
